Our idea is to hold a river festival along the Iowa River by the Iowa Memorial Union. The festival will include live music provided by local bands to enhance the music culture here in Iowa City and will also feature many different vendors selling anything from food, clothes, collectibles, sports apparel, etc. A special stage will be constructed in Hubbard Park so a sizable crowd can gather to enjoy the live music. A wide variety of mini-games will be included such as like a local fair or carnival. The event will take place on a Saturday and will last all day long. All University of Iowa students are welcome as well as families and all other members of the community are also encouraged to anticipate in the the festival to make it into a new Iowa tradition.
